SUSE Training Courses
SUSE provides enterprise-grade Linux operating systems, software-defined storage solutions, and application delivery products. Some of SUSE’s popular products include SUSE Linux Enterprise Server, SUSE Manager, SUSE OpenStack Cloud, and SUSE CaaS Platform.
We offer following courses from SUSE.
This three-day course is designed to present current deployment technologies for those who want to deploy SLES on bare metal systems, in the virtual environment or into Public Cloud platforms. Students will learn and perform the basic installation using the unified installer and more advanced deployment using AutoYaST and image-based deployment with images built using the KIWI tool.
This four-day course is designed for those who are seeking a fundamental understanding of the SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES) operating system. Students will be able to configure a SLES 15 server and integrate it into an existing network. They will be able to perform the most important system administration tasks. This course helps prepare students for the SUSE Certified Administrator (SCA) in Enterprise Linux 15 certification exam.
The four-day course SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 15 Advanced Administration builds upon the SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 15 Administration course and teaches advanced system administration tasks on SLES 15. Attending students should have a good working knowledge of general system configuration and working with the Linux command line. After attending the course, the student should be capable of administering SLES 15 and be able to deal with specialized networking and storage configuration. They should also have a solid understanding of basic Bash scripting.
This course helps prepare students for the SCE in Enterprise Linux 15 certification exam.
This three-day course focuses on the types of day-to-day administrative tasks that SUSE Manager makes easy to complete and monitor. Generally, the major topics that are discussed in detail are:
- Exploring the SUSE Manager (SUMA) Web UI Management Console
- Implementing Channel Management
- Delegating Management Authority in SUMA
- Managing Minions using Salt commands
- Performing common administrative activities.
This course prepares students for the SUSE Certified Administrator (SCA) in SUSE Manager 4 certification exam.
This three-day course is intended to teach the student the purpose, features, and benefits of SUSE Manager (SUMA) 4.x. The course will present the architecture of a SUMA System and the requirements for successfully installing these architectural components.
You will learn how to deploy and configure these architectural components of a SUSE Manager (SUMA) 4.x system in a step-by-step fashion. Specifically, you will learn how to install and configure the SUMA Server, all types of SUMA Proxy Server, and the Salt Minion code for target client servers.
This training will enable you to setup a functional SUMA system to begin exploring the myriad of management capabilities SUMA provides for your managed client servers. Regardless of the size of your organization, this course will get you up and running with a fully functional SUSE Manager 4.x system.
This course prepares students for the SUSE Certified Deployment Specialist (SCDS) in SUSE Manager 4 certification exam.
This one-day course will introduce SUSE Linux Enterprise Live Patching. The course starts with an overview of the product’s functionality, the product requirements and the technology behind the scenes. Kernel Live Patching is deployed step by step, so you become familiar with the components. Once Kernel Live Patching (KLP), has been deployed, the tools used to manage KLP are explored.
This one-day course is designed to introduce the new features, functionality and procedures for administering SUSE Linux Enterprise 15. Attendees will learn how SLE 15 differs from previous versions of SUSE Linux Enterprise, and how those changes will affect the way it is deployed and used. This course helps prepare students for the SLES 12 to 15 Certification Update exam.
This two-day course teaches the student how to operate and maintain a SUSE Linux Enterprise High Availability Cluster after it has been deployed. The course covers use of common cluster administration tools and creation and management of the common cluster resources types. It also covers monitoring and troubleshooting of cluster resources, backing up and restoring the cluster configuration and updating/patching the cluster and its resources.
This three-day course teaches students to deploy and administer the SUSE Linux Enterprise High Availability 15 product. The course introduces the product features and implementation planning for both on premise and the public cloud. A SLE15 HA cluster is deployed and then applications and clustered storage are configured, tested and administered.
This course prepares students for the SCA+ in SUSE Linux Enterprise High Availability exam.
During this two-day course you will learn about the purpose, deployment scenarios, and use cases for the SUSE Manager (SUMA) for Retail product. You will install and configure the SUMA Retail patterns and formulas on top of a SUMA Server and SUMA Proxy Server. SUMA Retail leverages Kiwi-based imaging in the deployment of Point-of-Service (POS) Terminals and Thin Clients. You will learn about the Kiwi components and how SUMA Retail integrates with Kiwi to allow for the building of images via the SUMA Web UI; and learn how to deploy those images from the SUMA Retail Branch Server. Lab exercises will have you build and deploy images to virtual machines representing a retail store’s POS Terminals. You will also modify image configuration files to provide for local login to the operating system deployed to a POS Terminal. You will also see how to configure the SUMA Retail Server to automatically accept incoming Salt Keys during the Saltboot imaging process.
This three-day course is designed to understand the features and components of SUSE Linux Enterprise Server for SAP Applications. The course provides an overview of where to source the information required to execute a deployment successfully. Next the details of the components of SLES for SAP Applications is explored including the SLES High Availability components specific to SAP deployments, how to use the custom installation features and how to secure a SLES for SAP Applications system.
